Guitars and other Musical Projects

December 27th, 2022

I have some projects that I’m working on that I’ll add here as I continue to work on them. The plan is to have 4 projects finished before the summer of 2023. Once each one is completed, I’ll include it in a new song for a new album that I’d like to have completed before the summer.

This is the the first one. It’s a thumb piano, otherwise known as a KALIMBA (for all you fancy people). It’s just about finished and only needs to have some kind of finish put on. I considered putting in an inlay but I’m not sure how to do that yet.

The next one will be StewMac’s Ghost Drive pedal. It’s a clone based off the Klon Centaur Professional Overdrive guitar pedal. Original Klon pedals sell for thousands of dollars! If you want to put in a little work and dust off your soldering skills, then this should be the way to go. Here’s a link to the pedal and more information. https://www.stewmac.com/kits-and-projects/electronic-kits/pedals-and-mod-kits/stewmac-ghost-drive-pedal-kit

The third project will be this StewMac Tenor Ukulele. I’ve always wanted to get into guitar building, and these kits seem to be a good way to break into it and see what it’s all about. Here’s the link to this guy. https://www.stewmac.com/kits-and-projects/instrument-kits/ukulele-kits/stewmac-walnut-tenor-ukulele-kits/

The last one, and probably the one I’m looking forward to the most, will be this guitar. It’s an old Squire Strat that I had lying around which I had sanded down a few years ago. It will eventually be a Sonic Blue “Strat” with all upgraded electronics, including this Fender Original ’57-’62 Pickup set. The paints are from, you guessed it, Stew Mac. I love that site!
