First two songs…almost done
The first song is complete and the second one is almost there. I’m finishing up with the editing and mixing stage. This seems to take a big chunk of my time now. Hopefully, in the future, I’ll be able to turn that around and spend more time writing and recording. Post-song work is extremely important and I’m finding out how time consuming it can be, but well worth it. One day I’ll get good at it.
The first song that I did is an old ELO song, and aren’t they all. The second will be an even older Neil Diamond song. I like the simplicity of these songs and how they sound with an acoustic guitar. Actually, I meant to record them with just an acoustic and vocal to keep it simple, but once you get rolling its hard to stop. It was a good learning experience adding in the other instruments and vocals.
I’d like to thank all you super cool people out there who take the time out to put together some awesome tutorials on You Tube and also on your own websites. It’s a great help to us who really don’t know what we’re doing, and now I feel that I’m finally able to get a grip on this. Thanks! Although I do have experience in the analog (tape) world of recording, this recording on the computer is fairly new to me. I’ve done recordings with Pro Tools before but only to the extent of being able to capture a sound and being thrilled with that. Now I’m trying to take it up another level. Baby steps…
As for this website. I’m trying to figure out what theme to use but don’t want to look like someone else’s. I’m sure they can all be totally customized. Right now I’m kind of digging the minimalist approach, but I’m sure that will change real soon. Too much to do. Stay tuned.
If I can figure it out, I’ll post the finished song.
